Designer jeans are fun. If they are not your thing don't get worked up about it.

I love my 40$ gap jeans.
I love my $35 aeropostel jeans,
I love my $40 American Eagle jeans.

Women's designer jeans are actually made better than cheap ones and give curves for women without curves, but for men? why? do you need curves?

Nothing special about these jeans. Point of designer jeans is for them to be something that don't look like your run of the mill jeans, which these do.

Take a look at some Guess adverts in GQ, Details to get an idea of what you can do with good designer jeans. You'll get a lot more with them than you'll ever get from Diesel.

I bit. I love these jeans...although they're nearly identical to X2 NYCslim from express (which retail for about what these are selling at ($60-$70) so all around average deal. You can get these on eBay for $40-$50 but there's no guarantee they wont be counterfeit.

Never had a pair of jeans that fit and looked better on me than my Diesels. This particular design doesn't appeal to this sheep though.

The older the jeans are the more they're worth? That's because the longer you've had them the longer they'll last and the more they can be worn (which is what they're for), right? So these jeans have some amazing anti-wearing technology that improves with age?

Now THAT would be worth paying 2-4 times what they're really worth.

This thread is about Diesel Zathan 701 Jeans for $72. I have removed the social commentary. If you wish to discuss the cultural implications involved with wearing designer clothing, do it in elsewhere.

Allisolm, Please let me give a couple pointers into high quality denim. Diesel, true religion, RockinRepublic and the rest aren't actually high end denim!! It's an illusion. If you want true high end denim you must look for "Selvedge" Sanforized or unsanforized, raw or washed (I prefer raw) ...and you must pay more!! :p forgot to add with the ultra high end you get real indigo die. It looks wonderful as it ages but it does have a distinct smell. I don't think its bad its just there.

No deal.

I must be bored because I clicked through to see if these were possibly "iron wear" or super durable jeans and they look like very ordinary jeans to me.

Riveted jeans (metal rivet reinforcement) were meant for workers to keep pockets attached to the pants instead of ripping off with relatively weak stitches. I doubt these jeans would last a couple of days on a farm, or in a factory or mine.

You can actually get good Lee, Wrangler and Nautica jeans at VF Outlets for $10-15 and they look a lot like these without the pre-wear "feature," and even some of those have crazy looking wear spots.

Carhartt B146 5 Pockets is likely the "toughest" easily found and priced for regular humans jean out there, i.e. around $30.

You got money to burn for the best? In the $300 a pair range, Iron Heart http://ironheart.co.uk is the most durable jean out there since it uses 21 oz fabric with lots of reinforcement. Easily available in the UK and in the US through a SF store -

If you ride motorcycles or are otherwise inclined toward any kind of road rash (from which regular jeans absolutely will NOT protect you,) you owe it to yourself and your butt to check out kevlar backed Draggin' Jeans, the best in the world for looking cool while sliding on asphalt - http://www.dragginjeans.com.au . You can buy them in the States at -

CHEAP, surprisingly comfortable and an extraordinary deal at around $100 a pair!

$72 for diesels are actually cheap.

They really aren't my style, but a rather metrosexual acquiantance of mine convinced me to "go shopping" with him once and they made me feel completely gay. That said, most diesels at say a mall are something like $180 or more. If you are into this type of gear well its definitely a HOT deal.

Everyone has their thing (well some people are probably excessive). I mean the guy buying $200 jeans, is probably looking at overclockers who pay $50 for a ridiculous heatsink or $200 850 watt power supply and thinking they are idiots too

the 21oz IH are next on my list :p I'm wearing down a pair of flathead 310's right now. They are starting to look beautiful with almost a year of wearing them 6 days a week :) They did need to go to the denim doctor (west hollywood) for some repairs in the crotch but otherwise they are great.
