I was thinking about how Diesel Jeans have become ingrained in ATOT culture and it has me wondering if it was all just an ingenious marketing campaign by Diesel. Think about it. your a rich jean company that wants to appeal to the youth of America, many of which spend their time online. So you go out and hire some people to do viral marketing for you. That company goes along the usual and talked about avenues of youtube/digg/facebook, but they also try and do advertising on forums. So they go to the biggest forums online and pay a single well known member to troll and raise a general ruckus about Diesel jeans. It might not be all positive press, but as they say in the business there is no such thing about bad press.
Now I have no hard proof to back this up, but if you look at the end outcome of it ever single person on ATOT knows about Diesal jeans and has an image of them in their mind, a marketers dream.
