i really liked it, and i hadn't even seen the first 3. it was hard taking justin long seriously, because i think he's such a tool due to the mac ads, but he did a surprisingly good job. bruce willis cracked me up :)

It was pretty good, I don't agree with Willis that it is better than the first film.

Is it possible for Kevin Smith to do anything without jerking off over star wars? His character sucked and really took me out of the pace of the film.

The jet scene was a bit much, all the technology references were of course lame hollywoodisms but that doesn't really impact my opinion of the film at all. I liked them using fluxbox on some of the computers.

Overall it was pretty enjoyable, the PG13 rating really hurt the film's feeling compared to the first 3.

I enjoyed it a great deal, check it out. The story is pretty sweet.

Also, it should have been called
Die Hard 4: So Die Already.

Saw it, didn't really like it.

It just didn't do it for me. I don't like 3 either.

I thought Die Hard 1 and 2 were great, they set up drama and built these contained environments (skyscraper, airport) where all the action exists. The locations are basically another character in the movie.

3 and 4 tried to become "Epic" action movies taking place over large areas and just didn't do it for me. Being PG-13 didn't help this movie either, very tame I thought. And the action was WAY to over the top. Sorry but all the "F-35" stuff didn't do it for me. The car tunnel was lame too. Could they try to make the computer stuff at least marginally plausable?

I went to see it spent 40 bucks for tickets and popcorn and on the way home I didn't feel ripped off because it really was a good movie. Bruce Willis and Justin Long played off each other well. Then Kevin Smith popped in there towards the end. "Mom i told you not to let people into my command center" LOL.

Go see it great movie.

edit: I love how he always gets really bloody, especially his hand. His hand is always dripping blood like he's about to lose a finger.

Bump for a great movie. Go see it in a theater with great surround sound.

Two thumbs way up!

Good action flick... was hoping for more but got more of the same. Still worth the 2 x $7 matinee price.

It's likely they were able to model it, but as you said, it's maiden flight was recent (December 2006), and thus is not in production. Maiden flight is first successful flight of a finished model. The F-22 had a maiden flight in the early 90s iirc, and wasn't introduced into the military until recently.
either way, F-35B is an AMAZING flying machine, and a very capable one at that.

I know it was just a model, but since movies like this typically use normal, "every day" objects, you'd think they'd choose something like a F-22. The only reason it seems they chose the F35 is because of the B model's ability to hover and how they could make that scene even more actiony with it (I don't think a F35 pilot would sit there in front of a truck getting ready to shoot where he's a sitting duck). Normally I probably wouldn't have cared, but since I know a remotely decent amount about the JSF, that part just kind of threw me for a loop.

It also might've been nice if they avoided the Hackers-like interfaces. I mean, hackers was cool, because Angelina Jolie went top-less for like a split second... just long enough for the nerds to get their jollies ;).

EDIT: Since I really don't remember Die Hards very well, I watched the McTernian Die Hards over the weekend (Die Hard and Die Hard With a Vengeance). I have to admit that 3 is probably my favorite of them all, but what made 1 and 2 seem so different than 3 and 4 is that in the first two, McClane is the hunter as he picks off people using MacGyver-like techniques. The other two aren't really like this.

Guess i'm the only one who hated every unbelievable moment of this Die Hard (I wouldn't even classify it as a movie in the Die Hard series) movie.

I guess if you have the brain of an amoeba, this flick fits the bill.:p

I really enjoyed it. Sure it was unbelievable and totally unrealistic, but the action and funny one-liners from Bruce Willis kept me amused.

Saw it last night.

it was... tired. Had a strong feeling of déja-vu about it... this practically was "Firewall" 2.0 with added scenes from "Speed" and "True Lies", using McClane as a connection to the previous "Die Hard" movies.

It also felt cramped and unrealistic.

Seriously, aren't you guys tired of all these bad hacker stereotypes? Back in '95 this would've still been cool and fresh, but this is a 2007 film, and heck, even the hacker in "The Core" was more believable.

Rented it last night, ok but not as good as I thought it would be based all the people telling me how good it was and better than the prev movies.

Did anyone watch the unrated version? Anything special? I thought I saw that as an option at the Play screen but it might have been on one of the other movies I rented.

The director's cut was "R" worthy for language... although a boobie flash of McClain's daughter wouldn't have hurt :)

DH #1 and #3 >>> #4

Too much techno geek crap in this one. #3 was cool because it was smart and more on the realistic unrealistic side if you know what I mean. No controlling-the-world-with-a-cellphone shit.

#1 rules just because it's the first one.

#2 I managed to forget almost completely.
