.die file extension-How do I open it?

I tried searching for this file extension ( .die)on the web ,and in various sites
but I could not find any info on how to open it. Its contents are a whole audio
album ,but Im not very sure how to decompress it.Any ideas/help would be welcome.

PS: searched archived /new messages here but could not find
the topic

have you tryed tell windows to open it with media player ? or try changing the extension to something windows will recognize as an audio format.

i think you upen it with the Del key

Thanks for the help guys .I opened it with wordpad and apart
from a whole load of arcane characters ,it said "rar"
somewhere on the top.
Downloaded the winrar program and indeed it is a rar compression
format.the internel files all were mp3s but were labelled
wrongly also as .die ,followed your suggestion of renaming
all of them and it worked \m/
Btw, Eklass, how can anything open with the "del" key?
wont it just delete the file? or is is some keyboard special shortcut?

Eklass wasn't being helpful... 😉

Some people change the extensions so the RIAA bots don't find the software as pirated .mp3's etc.....
