Somehow my gross went up exactly $100, and less taxes were taken out, leaving me an extra $133 net...

What's Obama's number, I need to call and see if he's stimulating me...

mine went up with the first pay period of last month

you all are suckers for not getting it early

Hmm, don't think Obama can stimulate your gross pay but your net pay is a completely different story.

that's what I was thinking... it wasn't just me though, i asked a couple of other folks and their gross went up as well

this is of course the first pay period after they announced no merit increases for the year too 😕

the way i understand it is that the bamster changed the withholding table, but not your tax liability. So you'll have less taken out of your paycheck, but you'll still owe the same at the end of the year.

Someone in accounting screwed up your with-holding or you did.

Maybe it's a HR screw up?

Where I work my old manager told a co-worker on the same team that he wasn't getting a raise but the next pay check and one on it and from then out out it stayed.

Basically it turned out that raises are budgeted for and planned ahead of time each year and while he didn't want to give the raise, HR already had it in motion and it couldn't be undone.

But they ended up firing him anyway, so it didn't work out in his favor for to long....

Correct. The tax tables haven't changed.
