my mom was, but dad wasn't. parents are pretty open about sex w/ me. They gave me a pretty good home sex ed (no, not sex techniques, but the biological and psychological aspect. Of course, I learned it in school as well, but it's different to get a caring parent's point of view, than from a school).

Talking about sex withing the family is not so much taboo. If anyone in the family has a problem w/ his/her life about it, they can openly talk about it in my family, w/ no shame.

If my BF2 alias is any indication, I do joke about sex quite a bit. Me and my dad always crack jokes, and quite a bit of them are sex-related, and therefore, really funny, 😛. Some people find it wierd taht i'm so open about it, like getting caught jacking off by my dad 3 times, getting caught by roommates on a number of occasions, catching roommates in the act, catching my parents in the act... it's not really a "OMG WTF HOLY CRAP NOO!!" deal for me. It's a normal part of a ton of human lives. (some of you who live in these boards should know some of the stories I've told, lol).


Due to this education, I was very aware of the risks involved during my teen years. I resisted doing it w/ my X at times of when I didn't have proper protection at the moment.
Ok, obviously, any well raised kid will do the same as I did, but I think, w/ more open exposure, especially within the family, will make the subject less of a taboo, and raise the chances of one being more aware of the many consequences that come w/ sex.

Heh, it's really funny that so many peple love their parents so much that they are blinded to the point of believing dad didn't test the wares before marriage. Naive, but cute nonetheless, and it shows you care for your parents, or at least want to stand up for mom's honor. Don't get me wrong, these marriages do exist, but not at a 40% ratio. Not even close I bet. Mom's are good liars when it comes to that. I know my mother still thinks that I think she was a virgin, but I know better, but only because certain math involving a certain infant doesn't work out.

My mums old skool asian woman from quite a backwards country. She didn't date, she just married. She turned down a few marriage proposals also.
