Did you see the DaVinci code? What did you think?

I saw it. I thought it was good. I actually think it should have further strengthend peoples beliefs.

Toward the end Hanks and Amelie( I do not know here real name) were talking. Hanks said something to the effect of "Knowing what you know, do you want to end faith or renew it".

I think that was very powerful. Even if this was true, sticking to your guns and sticking with what you believe is more profound and shows more strenght than disregarding and trying to debunk it.

What do you think?

Same here. I read the book and liked it. Really wanted to go see the movie but most of the ppl who saw it said it sucked. Not because of the whole christianity/jesus thing but because the movie was flat, no chemistry between the actors, ...
I think I'll wait for the DVD

 You let other people tell you what's good and what isn't?

yeah, most of the less than stellar reviews are most likely because everyone has read the book. Dan Brown (in an interview) told about how he messed around with making a script for the movie, and that he was on pace for a 20+ hour movie because he didn't know what to cut out...

When seeing this movie you must consider several things

A. it's complete fiction, question it no more than you'd question whether or not we're in a Matrix after seeing The Matrix

B. it's a movie from a book - 99/100 times the book is going to be head and tails better, leaving you with a slight feeling of being let down - and the only times a movie could possibly be as good or better than a good book is if the movie doesn't follow the book to the T and possibly changes things that you may or may not like.

IMO, LOTR was a great movie in comparison to the book. I was amazed at how well Peter Jackson did.

If something gets really bad reviews I wait for the dvd. If it gets really, really bad reviews I use a torrent 🙂

I saw it, was bored after about 30 minutes, ready to walk out after an hour, and by the end I was so relieved it was over.
Read the book, liked it, have no iddue with the themes presented in the film etc etc.

Choice of actors was not that great, the utilisation of some actors was not very good at all, the overall pace was bad, it dragged on, there were parts which did not flow with the overall film, and basically it wasn't worth it.
Wait until it comes on TV and watch it then.

dont really want to see it.
tom hanks sort of stinks to me. all i ever see it tom hanks, not the role.
i like the chick enough...but the book was so annoying to me i doubt i could sit through the movie.
however, i have heard its terrible. which would make me check it out when it comes on hbo or whatever.
i may also just go buy a ticket to cross a picket line full of rubes.

I was saddened that Ian McKellen's character didn't persevere. We need more people like him in the world--though I didn't agree with the means he used.

I saw it. I liked it alright. Hanks doesn't seem to fit the role and I'll agree that the chemistry between the two wasn't that strong. But that hardly ruins the entire movie.

My main complaint was it featured "shakey action camera" during the car chase. All directors that use this fad technique should be put to death.

gonna wait for the screener/vcd of it later today. LOL kidding...

well i was gonna see it today, but i noticed most of the reviews said it was flat out boring, getting from point A to point B. though i really enjoyed the book, i feel that this movie will be a rental for me when it comes out on dvd/blu-ray/hd-dvd/whatever else china is making.

I read the book, it lacked depth, so the movie can only be shallower.

I saw it last night at 11:15PM and got out around 3. I fell asleep while watching it, might of been bored, tired, or something else. I read the book. It's probably one of the best conversions from book to movie, but because I read it, it wasn't that exciting for me. Also they can't show the suspense as well, that can't be helped IMHO.

once again, the book was better than the movie, but i thought it was very good anyways! it was actually how i pictured it in my head while reading the book
