The movies I watched on Corliss's list:

Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Bad Education, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Infernal Affairs, Fahrenheit 911 and The Passion of the Christ.

The movies I watched on Schickel's list:

Kitch Stories, Colletaral, Maria Full of Grace.

Damn, there are still a lot to go!

Hero the best movie of the year? No way. Most of the others I think at least deserve being mentioned for the list.

I haven't seen many of the movies on those lists but I saw Collateral on DVD yesterday and really enjoyed it.

I did want to see Sideways and I want to see House of Flying Daggers. I have no interest in seeing any of the others. Well maybe a director's cut of Closer.

Not a mention of Garden State. Critics are worthless.

If you mention Garden State, someone will say "Napoleon Dynamite". Those are moives on extreme. Even these two critics had totally different opionions for "Eternal Sunshine". In fact, Schickel chose "Eternal Sunshine" as the WORST movie of 2004! He sucks!

Garden State is in no way related to Napoleon Dynamite. There are so many subtleties and cinematic nuances in Garden State. You can't watch it simply as it's presented.
