Did you recieve corporal punishment when you were young?

The question is did you receive corporal punishment when you were younger. When did it stop and what "instrument" was used. This is not a debate on whether corporal punishment works or et cetera.

To start off,

My mom loved to use the clothes hangers. It didn't hurt when it was the cheap plastic ones, but heaven forbid if it were the wooden ones. The plastic ones would break after one or two hits. the Wooden ones never broke. My parents stopped hitting me around junior high school.

EDIT: As I was, I thought it was "corporeal" punishment, not corporal punishment.

hand only

i don't know up to what age, around 10-12?

i remember once, when i was about 11 , my dad got really really mad and grabbed a metal vacuum extension, like an elbow. he wanted to smack me , but he just smashed it onto something near me

my dad has a pretty bad temper, but doesn't get mad too often

Wooden spoon

Edit: I was good compared to my older brother. :Q By the time my younger brother came around the wooden spoon was retired (and not just because it broke)

Mom had the wooden spoon, Dad had the encyclopedia S volume (the thickest.) As a kid I always thought a frying pan would be the best instrument, but I didn't bring that up!

Edit: I think it stopped around my early teens, but I don't really remember.

I used to get pulled ears, slaps and once my dad came at my with a broomstick. However, I fended him off with a meter stick.
99% of the time I deserved what I got. The broomstick was a bit much though.

yeah. mom used wooden spoon and dad used his belt. though only time i got those was only when i did something really really bad. like the time i got brought home in a cop car at age 11.
oh and the one time i called my mom a bitch. that was not pleasent.

Dad used the belt. He'd take it off in one whip and snap it and then whup your ass bad.

Mom chased us with the spoon but it never did much anyway. It broke on my brother's knee once and hilarity ensued.

Yes, always the hand, only once a small switch (had blue jeans on, so no scratches, mainly intimidation).

Never got bruised or broken skin or anything.

I can still hear the tree switch whooshing right before my mother laid into me for being a little bastard when I was a child. The good thing is that I was able to fool her by acting like it really hurt when I got older when it hardly bothered me.

The old man used to use "The Belt." In school they used a paddle. My step mother used to use anything she could get her hands on, but she couldn't get a good swing, ever.
I don't think my parents ever stopped hitting me, I just moved out and they lost their opportunity.

I think my mom only used her opened hand. Dad had "The Belt".

In school i think i only got paddled once or twice. They had actual paddles. Think i got a yard stick busted once too.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, our gradeschool had "The Strap". It was a peice of leather wrapped in some sort of black tape and hardened up or something.

I got it 3 times. Once for throwing snowballs, once for banging the stage to the beat of the Little Drummer Boy during a Christmas concert, and once for putting worms in other kids' boots.

I was a good kid so I didn't get punished much. I got spanked a few times when I was three for running across a parking lot.

my dad had 'the strap' it was a leather dog's leash and it left bubbles on our leg's.

Having said that, I was hit maybe three times in my life. I deserved soooo much more. My brothers got it a bit more, but they deserved much more than they got, too.

VeggieFrog never got an instrument to be hit with. I would just smack her ass or legs when she was disrespectful, disobedient or defiant... which was all of maybe four times in her entire life. ... except for the one other time, when she was 16yrs old. On that occasion... well, let's just say that we were shampooing slurpee out of the carpet for days.

No, my punishment was all ethereal. My parents didn't believe in allowing corporeal entities in their house, only incorporeal.

Corporal punishment on the other hand, is a completely different story.

Yep, mostly the hand but the wooden spoon or yardstick, flyswatter etc... came out occasionally. Heck it was even ok for a friends mom to pop me once or twice if I was acting up then call my mom to do the same when I got home. I can't say I didn't deserve it but there is a fine line between a whooping and a beating, and I never really got hurt. And of course there was always washing out a dirty mouth with soap.

Modern parents pussify their kids now, a good spanking never really hurt anybody.

Hand, belt, wooden spoon, spatula, and then my mom became fond of those pasta spoons with the holes in them. I think I stopped screwing around by 12 (Parents now refer to me as the Golden Child). I was the first kid and prob got the worst of it. Middle got a little and he's pretty defiant to my parents (19 now) and the youngest (13) I don't think has even been smacked and he's a pita. It's a little late to start now as he outweighs my mom.

a paddle. my dad was into woodworking, and decided that thin wooden spoons werent good enough for a decent spanking.

i didnt get many spankings, dad meant business and i knew it.
