I passed fine, my parking was parallel backwards up a hill. horrid spot to make me do it so i stalled the truck once (it had a sucky reverse)

Nope. He failed me because I stopped too abruptly at a stop sign and drove exactly the speed limit the whole time. Said I should have driven slower.

Failed the first time (mainly because she asked me to do the 3-point turn in a lane that wasn't wide enough).

Got 100% the second time. Didn't bother me much tho, I didn't have a car when I took it the first time.

1st try (oakland) - lady used the word "merge" as both turning around a corner and between lanes so right at the end, she said merge 2x and i turned left 2x, then she almost yelled to merge again expecting me to cross 2 lanes after that. FAILED!

2nd try (oakland) - threatened to fail me if i didn't speed up faster after i made a couple complete stops, then she pulled the emergency brake while i was trying to turn left on an 2-way intersection (25mph area) cuz, apparently, a semi-truck a short block away, who was coming out of a driveway (therefore had a slow start), is too dangerous. FAILED!!!

3rd try (SAN MATEO) - 0!!!! errors. PASS!

***Plus, everyone at the san mateo dmv were unbelievably friendly acting as if they were my aunts and uncles. When i gave the desk lady my score, she was all happy and a couple other ppl nearby looked up and gave me the expression, "hey, that's awesome." (non-sarcastically)

yes, but I failed the written test then passed it 15 minutes later (different questions), still without "studying". Tells you how useful that test is...

No big deal. MD does it in a closed lot that they've "set up".

Pull forward. Parallel park. Pull out of parallel space. Box turn (it's not properly a 3-point, because you can do however many little movements you want so long as you get turned around within 3 minutes). Right turn at stop sign. Right turn at stop sign. Right turn at stop sign. Forward 100ft. Backwards 100ft. Yay, you passed.

Oh, and each individual manuever has a time limit of *THREE MINUTES*

Yes, 85%. I screwed up on the parallel parking and something else, but I don't remember what that was... (7 years ago)

lol yes...i dont see how you can fail that thing, it's pathetically easy. i think i was cited for not stopping fully at a stop sign, b/c I rolled forward and then stopped to see around this huge bush

in NJ at least, if you fail anything it's a failure for the whole test (I assume some testers make exceptions if they're in a good mood, but my tester certainly wasn't).

I can't answer your poll: I've never taken a road test. I got my DL right out of driver's ed class, so that was waived.

I failed my first time because I listened to my parents about going slow. Well I failed because I went too slow. :frown:
