It would have been funny if instead of wet sponges they would have used grilled cheese sammitches to conduct electricity to the some condemned man about to be executed in the electric chair. He'd be like, "Are they about to use delicious grilled cheese sammitches instead of sponges? Maybe I'll have one of those tomorrow... oh..."
 
Never had that happen to me, I'd get the stove checked, then again it sorta makes sense, the round is nothing but a very highly resistive wire being shorted out, if something with less resistance contacts it and is properly grounded I suppose the current would go to that path instead. At least, I think, I may be wrong on this.

Hmm I need to get test out that theory now. I'll get a coat hanger to touch the round while I hold another coat hanger inside the ground of a socket.

The only problem with wood stoves is the stove starts on fire to much... 😉

The energy in wood comes from the sun. I use a solar cooker.
