Did you know that Roosevelt forced resource-poor Japan into the war?

Is it any wonder other asians dislike Japanese so much? And I don't know how people can ignore this. Germany has tried hard and done a lot to make up for the horrible things done during WWII. Imagine the outrage if they portrayed themselves as a victim of Anglop-Russo aggression, and referred to the holocaust as establishing order in the jewish community...

Ah yes Yasukuni Museum, aka Japan's-pathetic-attempt-to-explain-their-atrocities-and-aggressive-expansionism.

Their text books at schools say the same thing.

i've seen several british documentaries that suggest that the american revolution was a wake up call to the british.

not to mention there was plenty of support in parliament even at the time for the 'colonies'

In Germany these days, I hear the general sentiment is that people there now view themselves as victims of the Nazi regime, i.e. Hitler was some sneaky guy that fooled the German people and used them.

People don't like to see themselves in a bad light.

I don't know why you think that a country should feel bad for dominating its enemies and improving its standing at the expense of others. That's the way the world works. The US is the same way. Nothing is just given to you, sometimes you have to take it by force.

at least they recognize the nazis were in the wrong

that made it seems like the imperial japan was a victim

it should feel bad for committing countless unspeakable atrocities.

as for invasions, just because they happens, don't make them right.

so i guess that justifies someone breaking into your house and killing you and your family just because they have guns? :disgust:

How is that any different than what the US does it its enemies? The only real difference is that our spin doctors are actively working to improve our PR image.

I mean, hell, we nuked them twice. That's like what you just said x10,000. Only they didn't need to have guns, they're got vaporized anyway. They could have been sitting inside making dinner, and poof, they're dead.

But I don't feel guilty about it. It's war, it's not supposed to be nice.

Hard to feel sorry for Japan

Japan did some 30 million murders in China & Korea back then, maybe more than Hitler, Stalin, & Mussolini all combined

Stop trying to moralize reality. It doesn't work. Yes the Japanese were cruel. That's probably part of the reason they got nuked, then nuked again. Nobody felt sorry for them.

I read somewhere that after the Second Sino-Japanese War, Japan only returned a few prisoners to the Chinese. Under 50. After years of war.

I believe I read that in the book Flyboys, which was about an incident of canibalism commited by the Japanese against American prisoners.

By the way, when I went to Germany, they said the same thing. I went to a church that was bombed by the allies, and the sign said that it was a needless act of aggression by the opposing powers. They made no mention of the fact that they were storing weapons inside the church.

If you were more intelligent, you would have gotten my point, but I guess in your current state I'll need to spoon feed it to you in terms which even you are capable of understanding.

I'm not saying it's right. Not at all. I'm just pointing out the fact that countries will do what's in their best interest- they'll do that which is logical, not that which is emotionally pleasing. Usually they do ditch their morals.

And the over-emotional whining about me not being in charge is just plain senseless. The entire topic- all the things which you are currently whining about- happened with other people in charge, before I was even born. Stop whining and start thinking. Turning a blind eye to reality will not make the world a better place; it will only cripple your understanding of it.
