Did you know? Calculator does Conversions

I popped open my Calculator and Little Snitch gave me a message that it was trying to access the Internet. Curious, I thought...why would it want Internet access? Turns out it can handle conversions, and downloads the latest-and-greatest currency conversions online from Apple! This is also the reason why Calculator is slow to launch if you block it with Little Snitch - it tries to find the latest currency and fails, so it takes a few moments to launch instead of instantly. The conversion menu includes:

Area
Currency
Energy or Work
Length
Power
Pressure
Speed
Temperature
Time
Volume
Weights and Masses

I'm sure some of you already know about this, but it tickles me to find hidden gems like this every once in awhile If you've used the Unit Converter app on Windows, this is basically a lightweight version of it for Mac!

This is cool. I've used the conversion Dashboard widget before, but I didn't know Calculator could do it too.
