For me: I was 14, she was 15. I kinda regret the situation now (long story), but I don't regret the act. Losing your virginity isn't the earth moving event some people think it is.

I definitely do not feel that being a virgin is some highly status that makes me better than anyone else.

I guess you could call it religious reasons, but it's moreso my personal view of it. My girlfriend and I feel that we need to be older before we'll be mature enough to appreciate something like sex.
 
I was 21 and proud to be virgin ,and I do regret it. It was a drunken impersonal experience with someone I really liked. She doesn't know to this day that I really did like her , and it cost her a great deal of self respect due to her best friend and some of the other people we hung out with. If I had it to do over again , I would certainly make wiser more responsible choices.

She was a friend of my mom. And I babysat for her.

What if you had sex, for the first time, on your 18th birthday, and you aren't quite sure what time of night you had sex... It could have been 17, could have been 18...

heh, we'd been dating since we were both 15, we are each other's only sexual partner, and we've now been married for over 5 years (both 26yo now)

I regret that I placed so much stock in it. I was the last of my friends to do it and I used to get depressed thinking I was somehow less of a man because of it. Now I realize that it wasn't worth obsessing over.
