Most of the "nerds" here I think are simply NOT white pasty dudes. Foreigners who are smart can also happen to look good which gets them the ladies.. My friend is Filipino and knows quite a bit about computers but you would never guess that he does.. He looks like everybody else but has that talent, it's mostly the pasty dudes that are quite obvious or the ones who ONLY read comics/play D&D.

As I said, I read a poll in a Seventeen magazine that my girlfriend had and was astonished by the results. So I wanted to ask here.

Oh, and for those who say "Why the fvck would I have regrets?", well, a good portion of the people who answered the poll do. So don't act like it's unheard of.

I've been with my girlfriend for almost two years, she's a year younger than I am. We will do our best to continue dating when I go to college in the fall, but of course who knows what will happen. Regardless, I don't expect to lose my virginity any time soon in college.
 
It was asking guys about sexual experiences. More than half lost their virginity under the age of 16 which surprised me.
 
I can understand those who regret their particular partner at the time, but I do not understand regret for the sexual activity itself (unless there were unpleasant unintended consequences). IMHO, virginity is NOT a virtue; one does not "lose" anything when one has sex for the first time.

I was 18, and do not regret it. I wish I was younger when started, though... "If I knew then what I know now..."
 
Well I did have it, but do I regret it? I have to see what her decision on both of us is later on in the week before I decide. There's a lot of crap going on with her that doesn't make sense.
 
It's not absurd to regret. Perhaps eventually in life you did or will have sex with someone who you truly love (perhaps who you end up marrying), and maybe that would make you regret doing it with those who you didn't really love.

Just making up a possible situation where one MIGHT regret it. Not saying this applies to you.

For me: I was 14, she was 15. I kinda regret the situation now (long story), but I don't regret the act. Losing your virginity isn't the earth moving event some people think it is.

Use protection, be smart and safe, go out and do it.

I don't see it that way at all. Sex with someone you truly love can be a wonderful thing, but that in itself would never make me regret having sex with anyone else prior. There's no reason why sex needs to be exclusive to one person your entire life (unless, of course, you buy into the whole fundamentalist Christian puritanism thing..)
