Well, topic pretty much says it all. I just wondered because after playing that 56ker at CS and him pwning me, he said how he wasn't sure if he was gonna stick around on AT. I told him not to worry about it, because I remembered getting flamed in my first couple threads. Did this happen to you guys too?

Come on, it's okay, share your experience. We're all here to help.
 
Doesn't have to be your very first, could be back when you first started posting. I just remember one or two threads in particular that I could've done without posting 🙂

nope. My first few posts were in hot deals threads commenting on finding Fuji CDR's at best buy. 😀

If you act like a douche, of course you're going to get flamed. He kept insulting everyones opinions and comments, so of course people were going to retaliate. I wish people would grow up and be more respectful sometimes. It is only the internet.
 
My first post was "Hello." and it blew up with like 40 responses in the first half hour. I would later come to realize it was the perfect opportunity to nef. Glad to be here.

He's a pretty good guy, I felt bad after I played him. I can see it from his perspective though, being the new guy and having everyone bag on you. I dunno, maybe it's getting too late and I'm getting too nice.

IIRC I was asking for free (or near free) stuff in FS/T.

I had a 486 back then, and needed a upgrade 😉


my first few thousand posts were 100% in computer areas. Then one day I stumbled into OT, been here ever since.

but I got a pretty good flaming before I reached triple digits... I entered one of those "omg my (fill in the blank) died" and said how stupid it was to make those type of posts on an internet message board. I've since learned the error of my ways and do my best to stay away from those threads 🙂
 
Most of the first posts and threads I made here were deleted for some unknown reason. Oh well, whatever... stuff happens. It's all good now. 😀
 
Nope - my first thread I believe was a WTB thread in the FS/T forums back in July 2003, pretty straightforward. 😛

I think my first thread here in OT was a post about the car accident I was in last August (was rear-ended), with pics and all. No bashing there either. 😛
 
i don't think so, but then I haven't started very many threads and none that were obvious flamebait
