I got my mom's 9 year old Accord because she got a new car. And I was thrilled to have it (as anyone who ever heard me talk about that car well knows). I still miss it sometimes.

Same here, except its my dad's and its 12 years old I believe, but it still runs great and no major problems.

He said he may get me a new BMW in December. He got the 2003 745i not too long ago. And we may trade the Navigator in for a car for my step-sister.

EDIT: I do work for my Father, I help with the businesses a lot. I probably work 30-40 hrs. for him

wow that made me sound really cynical didn't it? All I meant was earning what you get gives you a different prospective about things.

New? no. at 16? no...My dad just bought me a car because I need one for school and work, it was too hard trying to share two cars between me, my mom and my dad. It wasnt much, $1700 14 year old Saab, but im happy with it.

I got a full size four-wheel-drive '89 Blazer (in '96). I was happy. My younger brother, however: Got a new Mustang (V6), wrecked it (not his fault), got a new GT Eclipse, was rear-ended, and then got a new Maxima (loaded). He now complains constantly about the Maxima and has ragged it out. He has been asking for another new car. The baby of the family always gets what he wants. . .

When I was a freshman in HS my school raffled off a camaro and I won it. 😎 I couldn't legally drive it till I was 16 and had my permit, so for a year and a half it was usually in a garage. If I didnt win the camaro, I would have had a hand me down rusting toyota. 😀

I would say my child will woek her ass off and not think I'd get her a car, then I will. something safe.

Here's my million dollare idea for parents of teenage drivers.

when the car is in drive, it engages a device which jams cell transmission in the vehicle, there is also an optional smoke detector and breathalyzer attachment.

I didn't need a car at 16. All the good places to go are age 18+. My parents asked if I wanted a new car but I declined.

Holy fvck.

It's not a stupid idea, nor a serious one. You can't spell and have terrible grammar.
