Did you frame your diploma, and if so, how much did you pay for a frame?

So I graduated in 2000 from college, but my diploma is still in the envelope it came in. I'm finally thinking of getting the damn thing framed, especially after all the money I spent to go to college. The frame I'm currently looking at here would cost me about $173 shipped. I'm debating whether the cost is worth it.

On one hand, this is a pretty special certificate, so it should be framed nicely. On the other hand, I could go to the local store and probably pick up a cheaper frame for $50, or just leave it in the original envelope... 🙂

Or you could just go to a framing shop and have them make one just as good, for less than a quarter of that price.

I would never pay that much for a frame you haven't even seen. Go to a frame shop if you got that kind of money to spend.

while your at it, would you buy me a new set of rims for my yukon? since your like dropping 173 bones on sticks😉

i say go to a frame shop and pick one out in person bro

My college sold frames for $125 which were really nice but i was 2 cheap to buy 2 of them, I wanted to get the floating frame from Target but my damn school has oversized diplomas! Now my BE and ME sit in their envelopes.

Heh, I fluctuate between wanting to spend good money and not, which is why the damn diploma has been in the envelope all these years.

But yeah, I probably could get something just as good for 1/2 the cost, but it seems most places that advertise frames specifically for diplomas do ask for about $150 or more.

Yeah that's part of my problem as well. Mine is 11.5"x14.5", so I don't know if an 11x14 would accommodate it.

Yeah, I got mine framed--it was part of a graduation present though, so no accurate guess as to how much it was, probably about $100.

Just think about how much the darn sheet of paper actually cost (including opportunity cost if you're so inclined) and then whatever frame you're putting it in will seem dinky in comparison.

But beware, if you go on to grad school, then you're committed to getting the others framed too--can't have the B.A./B.S. in a nice frame while the M.S/Ph.D/Whatever is in an envelope, right?

I don't think I even have it at my house, maybe my mother has it stored somewhere in hers. Oh well..

I got mine from my university bookstore and it was about $130 similar to the one you linked....my wife got the more basic model and it was only about $100...in retrospect I feel the basic one is the way to go.

I don't buy frames for worthless pieces of paper. Better off using it to start a fire in the fire place. At least that way it serves a purpose.

i took my to a frame shop and paid about $35 or $40, they did the whole thing. it was an option to do it yourself (just buying the parts), but i was lazy
