that cd that supposedly had 350 original PC games for like $8 around 10 years ago?
Only to find that there weren't anywhere near 350 games on it, and most were nasty rip-offs.
And then at that time your computer wouldn't be able to even install a bunch of them?

i remember that, and yes, I did. most of them were shareware and not the full games. i was so pissed
 
I didn't, but one of my aunts bought every single game CD should could find, back in the days of DOS and Windows 3.1. And I *still* get calls from her, because they won't work.

Yep, the Internet slime bags cut their teeth on this kind of scam. They are even worse today.

My mom bought a cd of 750 card games. I installed it for her and counted far few games (like 8-10 or so).

Turns out:
( # of card games) * (# of difficulty settings) * (# of background colors) * (# of card patterns) = 750ish
 
I think someone gave me one on a birthday or something, never installed it or anything, it's probably thrown away in the attic somewhere 😛
