did you ever use your microwave oven as a timer?

Its good if you're too cheap or lazy to buy a separate timer. Set the power to '0' before you hit start.

Nah, I just use the Alarm option in my cell-phone.
Noneoftheless, I've already thought about using the microwave, but just ended up looking at the time. Talk about waste of energy.

I don't know if it still true today, but I remember reading a couple years ago that your not supposed to run a microwave empty. Don't remember why.

Ok sorry I didn't explain... the magnetron is not on at all. You hit:

Time
1 0 0 0
Power Setting
0
Start

And you'll hear the thing beep in 10 minutes, but inside it will be all dark and quiet the whole time.

DOH! My bad. I use the microwave timer all the time. On mine I don't have to set the power, it just acts as a timer.

I use the timer on my microwave all the time while im cooking. but i dont have to set the power to zero or anything

my microwave has a separate timer option that can be used at the same time while cooking stuffs... but nowadays, i use the alarm on my phone or on my comp... it's easier that way

I do use my microwave as a timer all of the time, and I do have to set the power level to 0.

I don't have any other timer in the kitchen.

Oven timer for me... never even considered trying to find / use a timer on the microwave.
