I am not tring to start another flame war (maybe I am 😛), but for those who missed it, have a good read...

x800

Might be a fake document, but read anyways.

I love #5 slide.
ATi says "We weren't sure how produceable it (SM3.0) would be"
nVidia says "ATi doesn't know how"

Straw man (Even if it's fake, it's done pretty realistically, marketing BS (from nVidia about ATi, whether ATi's comment was the whole truth is a seperate matter).

Very professionally done if it is a fake.

PROPAGANDA

why would any reputable company devote such a long presentation for internal consumption?
BRAINWASHING

This is so brutal. I can't believe people get their panties all wound up for this crap. Why can't this industry be just like the rest of the industries in the world? Buy what you want to buy, and leave it at that.

Ya, where I work I have to sit through some 30 page .ppt presentations at times.

Its all good in coporate America 🙂

Nvidia should show some respect to other companies. ATI never makes any comments about their hardware.

Anyway, these slides don't phase me one bit and it shows who truely is desperate.

We've answered this, and yes, we feel we can compare ourselves to any brand, as we believe our quality and performance are higher. Perhaps at times we should be upset about people comparing us to lower quality implementations 🙂

LOL

ouch.

I think nV is the one trying to start a flame war. 😉 This is the same FUD they spewed with the Kyro. They must have forgot that they did the exact same thing with the GF4 at a similar time, when they were simultaneously developing a GPU for the Xbox. Now ATi is simultaneously developing GPUs for both the Xbox2 and Gamecube2, so they apparently scaled back their ambitions with the R420. They're lucky in that the R300 was fast enough to allow them to rest on their laurels a bit (although you could argue that the reason they got the extra console contacts was because the R300 was so much better than the competition, just as NV20 outperformed R200).

Sadly, this sort of slimy PR is a business fact. What can we do but ignore it, or hate it so much that we overlook the merits of that company's hardware. 😉
