nope. i'm stronger then that. i actaully never played it. don't like those type of games. Guild Wars is much better. Then there's Oblivion which is even better.
 
If by WoW, you mean "Whip 'em Out Wednesday" (Opie and Anthony Radio show), I have to say that's one thing that could dominate my life, on Wednesdays, anyway. But a computer game? Hey, WoW is no Quake 2!

For any Quake2 player still around (and its still the best multiplayer game), there's tons and tons of new maps and awesome players/servers at www.tastyspleen.net. Just get the maps at the address above, then connect to "tastyspleen.net" in Quake2. You can use the "goto" command at the console prompt and see a huge list of servers and who's on them. See a server you like? Type "goto vanilla", or "goto dm", or goto tourney1", etc., and you'll be transported to that server.

i played the game for literally a minute. paying monthly is stupid (but works somehow) and it seems pretty boring. too much time wasted walking around and doing nothing
 
been playing since it came out

almost have 2 lvl 60, over 200 total levels (not that much at all compared to some people), and more than a month of real life time played on my main.

in the same time period i also managed to get a graduate degree while working full time and make a bunch of friends in a new city. its really not that hard to manage one's time to accomplish everything you want and still have fun doing it.
 
Not really. Played quite a few toons, ran 1 up to 60 and got bored. I did the raiding thing in EQ and just can't be bothered with it anymore and that is pretty much all there is to do post 60 in WoW.
 
I don't understand why people would say paying monthly is stupid. That is unless they want the game to be exactly the same as it was when they bought the box. Then there is the cost of hosting the servers but it doesn't really matter in this discussion.

To answer the OP, it took over my life, I quit, and then I came back. The good thing is that now I can at least moderate my play a lot better than I could previously. I actually have over a level of rested xp right now.
 
I started back in Nov 05 and palyed it pretty hardcore then got 60 and well after 60 all you do is play the same level over and over looking for one piece of equipment (valor for me which never drops btw). So I made another character and ran around doing all the usual leveing stuff, but this time knowing that trying to collect good blue items is useless untill you reach level 60 (you end up "outgrowing" them quite quickly). So now i have a 60 warrior, a 48 mage and a 30 priest.

WoW is so redundant that i always ask myself why i keep coming back. I think i figured out that my mentality is that I have something invested in this game (namely time), and would hate to jsut "delete" all that effort. A few of my friends still play it, but that is slowly decreasing as the WoW formula for entertainment grows tiresome (quickly level to 60 then start collecting gear). Don't get me wrong, I really love RPGs (the primary reason i boutght a DS Lite 2 days ago) but I don't think ill ever get the same feelings I had when I played baldurs gate 2 or Final Fantasy III (US) for the first time. Probably because WoW thinks that social interaction will make up for a weak storyline and immersion. Good luck WoW, I dont know of ANYONE that reads anything but the quest title, which is then used to look stuff up coords or whatever on the net. Maybe the RPPvP servers are different but
I have yet to try those.

Anyways I think ill run around with my priest for a bit today and maybe see if there is a way to "hibernate" my account untill i find WoW interesting again.

Isn't it like any other online game in that when you cancel your account they don't delete your account, they merely turn it off?
 
I played it for maybe a week often, and 3 weeks or so off and on. It got boring, like every MMO does to me. (SWG could have been different. The key word is could, becuase actually it sucked ass.)

I guess it's a good thing, judging by how much time a lot of people I know have thrown away with that game.
 
I went nuts on it for a month or two, but got over it quick after lvl 55 (when all the quests take 4+ hours and require large groups of people to complete).

agree, but i've quit twice and came back twice. This time i'm in a small guild, we talk on Vent, and it's a good time just interacting with online friends, especially talking smack about who's better when we're in BGs
 
now all you lvl 60s have to do is wait for the expansion pack coming out this fall with new races...flying mounts,new 60 instacnces and other stuff..mostly for 60s
