Did we ever make up a holiday on Friday?

Usually, if the holiday falls on a Saturday, they'll do the federal holiday on Friday. Holiday falls on a Sunday, federal holiday the following Monday. Certain holidays fall on specific dates (New Year's Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day & Christmas), and can fall on any day of the week. Most, for reasons of simplification (I'm sure) have been mandated to a specific Monday (Memorial Day is last Monday in May, Labor Day is first Monday in September, etc), with pretty much the exception being Thanksgiving, which is always on a Thursday (believe it's the 3rd Thursday of November, if memory serves).

This year, Veteran's Day will fall on a Wednesday (federal holiday in the middle of the week), and Christmas will fall on a Friday (yes, ANOTHER Friday holiday!! :shocked: ), as well as the New Year's Day 2010 holiday the following Friday. Almost seems like a trend now, doesn't it?? 😉

It just seems like you're being grumpy over having days off from work, and that baffles me.

What are you trying to stay away from at home so much that you want all of our well deserved holidays taken back?
