Did they put the original or "fixed" versions on Bluray?

According to this review:

If you want the trilogy set that contains both the SE and the unaltered versions but no bonus features, make sure when purchasing from Amazon, that the picture is a picture of Darth Vader and Luke clashing with light sabers and the box has a lot of blue coloring. It also says IV V VI along the bottom. Scroll down to DVD info and it should say release date: 2008. THAT is the version you are looking for.

edit:
Oh, that review is 2+ years old and only concerning the DVDs. Frack.

edit2: Looks like there's a chart here listing which versions contain the theatrical release. None of the bluray sets do.

They're the Special Editions with even more new content! Who needs the drama of a silent Vader as Palpatine fries his son. Have him scream "NOOOO!" Much better, and closer to the original vision. Sadly, I'm not making that up. It's both jarring and hilarious.

Get the Blurays, then toss them in the closet and get Harmy's Despecialized Edition fan edits. Guy has spliced in upscaled footage from the LaserDisc version with the BD version. Cleaned it up so it doesn't look too jarring. It's the closest we'll ever get to a true HD theatrical cut. He's done a pretty good job of it.

This. Harmy's releases are amazing, the official Blu-rays are crap and they are sitting unopened in my media cabinet for the purposes of being a "content license."

Which one should I get if I self-identify as a hipster? Harmy's?

No, the original LaserDiscs are for true hipsters.
Also hardcore fans of the films. Like those cock munchers you see standing in line a week early, full-costume.

Wow nice. There is a laserdisc player on ebay for $35 and the original release for $15.

I'd prefer to be paying original 1977 prices but I suppose this will have to do.

Hey! I have the last pressings on laserdisc before they made the SE. I am so far from being a hipster. But, these LDs are the best version.

You can't make a derivative better than the source. The best available home video footage of the non-SE movies is from the LaserDiscs and he did have to source some footage from it to restore what was missing from the Special Editions. The non-SE DVDs were sourced from the LDs, so sourcing from those would have been another generational degradation.

I'm still hoping that Disney will now release either the original releases on Blu-ray or even just the mid-90's versions. I think it could happen as they have to know there's a demand for it.

Sure, bits of the Despecialized Edtions are from SD sources, but most of it comes from the Blu-ray and parts are from other high-quality sources such as scans of 35mm film or an old HD television broadcast. Plus, many scenes from the Blu-ray were digitally edited to restore them back to normal. You make it sound like some kind of amateur release - that's far from the truth. Harmy's DE is one of the most impressive film restoration efforts I have ever seen. He has put in hundreds, if not thousands of hours, and the result is incredible. The final product, in 720p, absolutely blows away every other non-SE release of the films. In many ways it is even superior to the Blu-ray release without even considering the stupid SE footage.

Comparing Harmy's DE to the Laserdisc release tells me you have never watched it, especially the newer 2.1 DE version of Star Wars.
