I agree, it didn't have any real direction. It was just like 5 different storys going totally different directions.

The Simpson's has been going down hill for a while now. It's almost painful watching some of the new episodes. Sadly, I can't see it getting put to sleep anytime soon.

The Simpsons have lost direction the past few years. I can understand how hard it might be to come up with new ideas for episodes. I still can't figure why Fox cancelled Family Guy and Futurama.

actually, i thought that was a good show, and i'm someone who hasn't found the simpsons funny for awhile now..there were some stupid jokes-like the endowment bigger than harvard thing, but overall it was funnier than some of their recent stuff.

Hey, at least it was better than the King of the Hill episode that followed it! That episode was so lame, what I changed the channel half way through.

How can you even watch King of the Hill? That kid Bobby is the biggest f-tard in the history of TV characters. If I had a son as stupid as that I would sell him into slavery.

I actually found the episode kinda funny. But, that really doesn't say much since the past two seasons have been found lacking, the bell curve has been shifted so one halfway decent episode now may actually be entertaining.

I miss Futurama very much though.

I missed the episode but wanted to comment that I think "jump the shark" is the coolest coined term ever. It so perfectly describes the phenomenon of TV shows reaching that point of no return. Anyone who's seen that Happy Days episode can immediately relate :)

ITS THE NEW WRITERS THAT SUCK!!

Everyone thinks the quality was just slowly degrading but it is the new writers who started making this crap!

Well, duh.

BTW, it's largely the writers who determine the quality, or lack thereof.

It's actually more like shows in the golden years in having several semi-connected plotlines, and the Batman episode was classic - "Bat ferris wheel reversal spray."

It's not up to the level of "Marge vs. the Monorail" or the Dental plan/nuclear plant strike episode, but was still better than normal for the twilight years.

I just hope South Park never jumps the shark. It's the only show besides some stuff on the History Channel I watch anymore.
