Although it's up slightly in the past few weeks, in the past few years NG has been pretty consistently in the $3-5 range...In a nut shale, yes.
Basically the last few years have been unseasonably warm, resulted in glut of NG,, so the manufacturers reduced their rig counts, which led to smaller stored supplies. In come a few blizzards, draw down ratio exceeding storage, so you're beginning to see the rise in NG prices.
It's a good time to invest in NG companies, some are looking to export them as LNG to China as well. Consider this a tip
Holy crap what are you using that gives you such a small bill, a natural gas candle? lol. Mine is about $95/mo which is actually pretty low, or at least I thought so.
