One of the theories was that turning it on would cause a ripple in time that would go back and make it not ever work in the first place. Presumably that is what happened. So in a parallel universe or something, it turned on, but then went back in time and caused itself to break in this universe.

Isn't this thing kind of a waste of money and dangerous? One of the basic life lessons is that you don't fuck with mother nature. :shocked:

I sure hope I don't find out that the only reason I'm walking, talking and breathing today is that they did not turn that thing on yet.
