It's unfortunate he caught the blame. There were at least 3 or 4 other people who could've been given blame too. It was an unfortunate situation.

1) move to another state and change his name. He will always be blamed for game 6.
2) stay in Chicago and hope for forgiveness, hey all Cub fans know they had three games to clinch it, why blame one foulball?
3) kill himself.

If I was Steve Bartman, my choice of these options would be 1, 3, and 2. 😛
