So Bannon - Trump's strategist - did this interview with Hollywood Reporter where he explains that his deeper motives are anti-establishment and anti-globalist.

However if you look at all the Trump administration picks, these are obviously globalists and establishment billionaires.

Is it safe to say that traditionnal Republicans like Reince Priebus are caling the shots and that Bannon has nothing to say in all this?

Like, what exactly is Bannon's real agenda? What does this guy want? For somebody who's worked in media you don't hear alot from him.

Let's see, his job is to basically oversee the office of the President of the United States, manage staff, manage the President's schedule, decides who gets to meet with the president and to support his/her President. Hopefully you won't hear a lot from him, he should do his job, keep his mouth shut and support the man in power.
Globalists? I don't think so, i think that most of them are strict pro-American patriots. Time will tell won't it?

Erm.. you just described what the Chief of Staff does, not the "advisor" or "strategist" or whatever bullshit title they gave Bannon.

You are totally right, i misread it and named off chief of staff duties (Reince Priebus). My mistake and thanks for the correction.

I'm sure a secretary of state that was revealed to have a joint russian company in the bahamas will have america's interests at stake. I'm sure his stock in exxon will have no bearing on the fact that the sanctions against russia have cost his company billions of dollars and he won't be influenced by that no siree.

Sometimes people just lie, to get what they want. Bannon's objective is to make america white again, and plugging in a lot of rich white sycophants doesn't exactly hinder that. Arguable the main aspect of "globalism" these klan figures hate is that globe contains non-whites who don't know their place, and similarly the "establishment" who dared to front a candidate as non-white as rubio. Everything rather makes sense if you see things for what they are, instead of what people often pretend.

No Bannon probably will be quite prominent. What you're seeing in the Trump admin is that he's compromising because he shares this party with the GOP. So like something that Trump doesn't care about he'll give to a big GOP donor, that is Education secretary. Trump doesn't care about education. He gave energy to Rick Perry. Trump doesn't care about energy. He doesn't care about HUD. He gives it to Ben Carson. etc. The others are just useful establishment guys, like Priebus, who won't have any real power and are there just because they're useful.

Where Trump does care about, he gives to certain people. Rex Tillerson definitely sends a message. So does Mattis and Flynn. I expect we'll hear that Kris Kobach has been appointed to something like Homeland Security any day now. The fact that Bannon was given a position pretty much immediately shows that he will be very influential.

What I've read about Bannon is that he does have a fundamentally different worldview than the establishment. He is best understood as a Samuel Huntington conservative.

He'll probably get the same bullshit title as Valerie Jarrett. Only with less teenage mutant ninja turtle.

I expect that Trump's first 6 months in office will be defined by the fight between Priebus (the establishment) and Bannon (the base), with one of them being out of the White House this time next year.
