He never deserved the first one and it is interesting to see how the fake story has gained steam on social media. This doesn't say much about the people who voted him into office.

Regarding his real peace prize in 2009...it turns out obama was given the award as a way to boost his image and not for anything he did... which was nothing at that point anyway.

Which is of course what every person here, aside from the die-hard obama zealots, already knew. This was a political award that somehow was originally was to be an award for doing something to boost humanity.

When he was awarded the nobel prize, it pretty much put the nail in the coffin of that prize being a serious and prestigious award. It's obviously a political joke, awarded to whatever idiot is politically popular among other idiots.

It's not bogus and it sometimes goes to very worthy recipient (Óscar Arias for example). The problem is that the Nobel Committee has turned it into an annual award instead of presenting it when truly deserved. It would be better if it weren't awarded at all some years (or even most) so it doesn't dilute the award. Likewise, there might be years where there are multiple worthy recipients and there's no reason they can't all be recognized in a timely fashion.
 
I prefer my Nobel peace prize winners to have kill lists.

Cant think of anybody more deserving of the award than Obama!
 
The committee even admitted it was given "in the hope he would bring positive change to the world". No doubt they all feel deep regret now.

Is it really that hard? He is the first black president. Although it is certainly an achievement for progress as far as this nation is concerned, the issue is that there was no qualifications whatsoever for a nobel peace prize. That isn't a question. Everyone here is in agreeance on that. If you don't want to admit that as the reason for his nobel peace prize, YOU need to tell US why that is, because I have 43 others I can name that fully qualify as well.
 
When Obama got elected I was in college, and a crowd of about 300 students ran around campus cheering his name. I didn't know they ran all the way to Oslo.

The previous thread title was relevant because within the last week a number of sites starting publishing that obama won a second nobel peace prize. Sites like abc.com.co,usatoday.com.com, etc.. saw the story gathering steam on social media in the last week.
