Did not realize the Wii U was already 8 years old.

I got it relatively late, right around the time they finally released Mario Kart 8, and played it once in a while, but not daily.
Apparently they shut down the Miiverse a while back and I didnt even know. They also stopped patching all the games I own. Its weird.
I didnt have my NES very long but almost every waking moment was spent with it. Of course, I was much easier to entertain back in the 80's. Nowadays I'm finding most movies and television are boring and I had to go back to books just to keep my brain active.
On an unrelated note, the Switch does not impress me and like previous Nintendo efforts I will probably be skipping a whole generation. Unless theres something really good I'm missing out on and you guys think I NEED a Switch.

WOW!
I just realized I've owned Mario Kart 8 for six freakin years!
Have made very little progress in it. Only completed the 50cc circuit and none of the others. I must be boring.

A few months ago, I picked up a almost mint copy of Mario Kart 8 Wii U ....on Facebook Marketplace for $15. It was only 8 miles down the road.

Never even got a Wii U until August 2019....but...I have managed to pick up 12 of the "best" games for it also for under $100. And there are about 18 more titles which are a most have for me.

S;uper Mario 3D World
Zelda Twilight Princess HD
Zelda Wind Waker HD
Zombi U
Star Fox Zero
Toads Treasure Tracker
Ninja Gaiden 3 "alot better than PS3 or 360 version"
Super Smash Bros Wii U
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Yoshi's Wooly World
Mario Kart 8
Sonic Lost World

I do understand the "hate" the Wii U received. But in my own opinion...I love it. How can ya go wrong, with this list of games ? Some people dont like all the games in this list...But I certainly do. My Wii U...."32GB Black" was also purchased from the M arketplace on Facebook brand new, but has been removed from the box, then reboxed for whatever reason...for $160. And Mario 3D ... Sonic Lost World ...and both Zelda titles came with it. The other game I bought separately.

Well I have Star Fox Zero and its garbage, so I kinda dont wanna take your list seriously. But maybe I will check out Donkey Kong and Twilight Princess.

I cant vote for Star Fox either, I only listed it cause I have it. Bout it on eBay for $10 shipped new. So why not ? lol. But I havnt even played it yet.
But I will say....Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Twilight Princess HD are phenomenal games. Twilight Princess with a Wii U Pro controller is lightyears better than the Wii Remote for the Wii version.

The Wii U also has Zelda Breath of the Wild. Wasnt this game actually built for the Wii U, and ported to the Switch ? But ill be picking it up on the Wii U. If it were me, the only reason I'd pick up a Switch right now, would be for Super Mario Odyssey.

Great system! I just took advantage of Gamestop's B2G2 on Wii-U games. I have a pretty decent library of Wii-U titles, haha. I'm still trying to finish up Twilight Princess HD.

Yep, it was a Wii U title. The Switch honestly doesn't have a ton of must-have exclusive titles, but it's a really cool system to be able to play games on.

To add to your list of one: Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Golf Story!

I am currently on my 3rd playthrough of Twilight Princess HD.....Awesome game ! Right now I am in Lake Hylia. Then I plan on starting Zelda Wind Waker HD.

As a matter of fact, its the same place I purchased my SNES a few posts up.

I paid $160 for my Wii U. From Facebook Marketplace in Woodstock VA. It came with ..

32GB Black console
Wii U Pad
Wii U Pro controller
All cables, including HDMI
4 port Gamecube controller adapter
Platinum original Gamecube controller "perfect analog stick rubber and zero button or analog stick play"
Super Mario World 3D
Sonic Lost World
Zelda Wind Waker HD
Zelda Twilight Princess HD

And all of it was barely used. Still minty mint. The Marketplace sure does get some damn good deals.

Again, I understand why some hate the Wii U. But you do have to admit, there is quite a few awesome titles on it.

I don't really understand the hate for the Wii U now, though. Unless you're just bitter that you paid launch price for it, Gamestop practically gives them away.

I got it late and picked up an unopened Wii U black with Super Mario and Super Luigi for a reasonable price. Feel like I had my money's worth already. Donkey Kong just arrived in the mail today and after my pizza I will try it.

Please report back would love to know your opinions. 🙂

Its OK.
I need to see some vids on youtube. I missed the majority of collectibles on level 1-1, but its fun.
Oh, and I should have stated I picked up Breath of the Wild for Wii U some time ago, and never got around to starting it until recently.
I dont like 3D Zelda. I spend most of my time swinging the camera around and struggling with the controls. For just about every 3rd person and 1st person video games I much prefer the mouse and keyboard. Its why the N64 made me angry.
I need to investigate the 2D Zeldas I've been missing over the years.

I for one am glad Donkey Kong Country games doesnt have a time limit. Like all Mario platformers......there are just too many hidden spots in Country that there is no way to do it with a time limt. Most are very cleverly hidden. I never get all items in each level my first time through, usually not even the second level playthrough. Usually about 3-5 before I complete it. Love the graphics in it too.
