I've noticed recently that they seem to blur street address numbers on the buildings now. That really is gonna help us who use Streetview to see what the place we're going to looks like, so we can recognize it more easily from the bus.:\

And think of the poor stalkers... :ninja:

Haven't noticed this. But....

I wonder if they plan on archiving Google Maps. Can you imagine if we had a view from every street in the world in 85 B.C.?

There is a pretty well-worn path across the border there. Perhaps they are all going to the day care center?

Serious border security there. If the hedge doesn't stop you, the bamboo will. And that fence looks deadly. A guy could trip on that. :awe:

If I lived in that house, I'd dump my garbage on the American side. Just so I could know what it feels like to be Mexico.

Curious place though. I wonder why they never seceded from the US and joined Canada. Seems like it would be in their best interests. Living there must be a pain in the ass. There's not even a ferry terminal providing a direct link to the US.

Edit: That's an awesome game shop BTW. We have one or two here in Vancouver like that by the name of GameDeals.

Actually it fucking sucked. I wanted to get some 360 games and there were like 15 total games... If you wanted to get a sega saturn, that's your store.. but why the fuck wouldn't they carry modern stuff as well?

Oh well cause they specialize in vintage games :p Same as the GameDeals store I was talking about up here. They have a few new things here and there, but they are largely a vintage game niche store for those looking to collect and relive nostalgic gaming. Kid in a candy store for me. :D If you want anything newer try EBGames.

They already have. I've actually talked to a Google employee who wrote part of this feature. All of the images since Google started Maps/Earth are in the archives. They've been working on buying as much historical data as they can.

You can view it in Google Earth. They obviously have way more data about the present, but they do have some decent historical data in certain areas at certain times (such as WW2 sites and such).

I'm actually surprised they did our city a few years back. I actually saw one of the Google cars while driving and sure enough I'm in the picture lol.

They missed lot of roads, but they did get the majority of them, which is cool.

Pretty soon Google will start using their robotic cars and the amount of streetview data should explode. They could have a car or two continually driving around every city in the world.
