Today, most programs that i've run, which include:

Quake 3
RTCW
Winamp
Internet Explorer
AIM

CRASH. The only thing i've installed lately is Zone Alarm, and after uninstalling that, i still get those crashes. I haven't done a single thing to my system since them. My temperatures are normal, i'm idling at about 40C cpu, and 27 case. I've gone through System Restore, and I still get the crashes. I've scandisked the computer, everything checks out. Well, there goes AIM right now, it just crashed out. Can my ram be the possible suspect? I have 2 sticks of Crucial 256 ddr, is one of them the culprit?

After posting this message, Internet Explorer crashed AGAIN!! :(

I've had something similar recently with my new computer. Random blue screens, boot failures... Turned out one of my Crucial memory sticks was bad. I found it out by removing all memory and trying only one stick, one by one. The defective one was not recognized when alone (though when together with the others, its size was being added to the total).

I replaced the stick, and no problems since.

Well, so far i decided on lowering the ram timings. I went from 8882622 to default SPD speed. Things haven't crashed yet...

Someone is sure to debate me on this one, but I don't think Crucial is turning out very good ram nowadays.
