At least he's talking about football, and not interviewing Russel Crowe while a game is going on.

i am a packer fan and i like brett favre(i was one of those who said he should have retired last year or the year before. i am glad he didnt know but that is for another topic) but even i think it gets to be to much brett favre love when he announces a packer game.

If you have a p2p sharing program download an audio bit from Brian Regan doing a Madden impression. He nails it.

MNF announcers actually make me uncomfortable at times.

Couple Yogi quotes which I could easily imagine Madden saying :
"I always thought that record would stand until it was broken."
"I wish I had an answer to that because I'm tired of answering that question."

The second one is funny though, not like an obvious commentary or remark such as the first.

I have always liked Madden. Ya, he says some dumb stuff but he explains parts of the game that most people never think about, like pulling a guard on a run play, setting up a proper screen pass, etc. Plus when he's holding the mike it's hilarious b/c his hands are the size of oven mitts.

At least he hasn't made any classic blunders, like these:

"The black is a better athlete to begin with because he's been bred to be that way -- because of his high thighs and big thighs that goes up into his back, and they can jump higher and run faster because of their bigger thighs. This goes back all the way to the Civil War when during the slave trading, the owner -- the slave owner would breed his big black to his big woman so that he could have a big black kid."
Jimmy "the Greek" Snyder 1988

OR
"look at that little monkey go,"
Howard Cosell 1983

Neither of those comments were meant to be the racial slurs they were taken as, BUT, in both cases, the men who said them SHOULD have known better.

Madden just comes off dumb somethimes, even though he really isn't.
