Did it take you long to adjust to your MX700 when you first got it?

I just finished setting up my Logitech MX Duo wireless keyboard and MX700, and like it so far. I had a MX500 previously, and am I finding the MX700 to be heavy and awkward. I know many rave about the MX700, and I can see why, and it's just going to take some time.

It took a while to get used to the size of the MX500, considering I used smaller mice before I went to the MX series.

How long did it take you to get comfortable with the weight and feel of the MX700?

I've got a Ratzpad and still have some Mouse Skatz (similar to the teflon tape I think) left over. Where would I get some teflon tape?

Edit: I just checked at Lowe's and saw the teflon tape. Is there a particular type or kind I should be looking for?

I've had an MX700 for a while now, and can't really imagine using another mouse. Yes it does take some getting used to, expecially when I use a different mouse, I find myself clicking the back button that isn't there on other mice.

Mouse skates/Teflon tape all help quite a bit on the glide factor. Teflon tape sux ars and make sure you have some on hand as it comes off within a few weeks if you game alot.

Just my info.

cheap mouse tape thread

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=1177087&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=

c4 thread, sells at the same store

teflon tape from lowes or home depot is not the same. its plumbers thread tape that easily slides between pipe threads its so thin, its also no sticky, let alone slick.

the cheap mouse tapes in these threads are exactly the same as mouse skatz, without the pprice gouging.

its ptfe

I think the teflon tape at lowes is for sealing pipe thread... I'm pretty sure the mouse skatz is the same thing as the tape I have...

I didn't like my MX700 so I sold it and went back to my $9.99 Logitech 5 button USB mouse.

It really didn't take any time at all for me to adjust. It fits my hand perfectly so it was pretty natural.

I came from a wired PS\2 Keyboard and a USB MX500 all through a KVM

Having received the MX duo for my birthday.

I didn't even notice I made the switch with the mouse. It still feels like it's hard wired. They feel the same, weight and all. Responsiveness is just as good if not slightly better due to the cord not snagging.

Keyboard... I notice a small delay, then again the base station is about 3 inches above it and probably less than a 1 foot in front. The instructions say minimum of 18", but that would put it too far back on the desk.

KB is very responsive though. Have yet to see a missing, dropped, or repeated letter while typing text. Just notice a small delay while strafing in FPS games.

I just didn't like the weight/feel to the mouse. I wish I had liked it because it's pretty damn cool, wireless and rechargeable.

Oh well.

Took me about a week before I fell in love.

The weight was awkward at first, but the extra inertia is a benefit in my gaming now.

OK, next question....

Once you've charged it up fully 3 times like the documents recommend, how long does a fully charge last? A few ours or a couple of days? I did a search of the archives, but didn't find anything.

There are some days when I am on the computer nearly all day and don't want to have to recharge the mouse right in the middle of something very important.....

....like Call of Duty :)

A full charge easily lasts 24 hours. Maybe more, but I always let it charge over-night so I'm not sure exactly how long it'll go without a recharge.

It's a good idea to leave it in it's cradle whenever you're not using your computer, but it's certainly not required for you to get a full day's use out of it.

I've never been in the middle of doing something and had my MX700 die.

Is it bad on the battery to leave it in the cradle?

It lasts a very long time.

And when it starts flashing red (low battery power warning), you still have 4 hours or so of life before it dies.
It's quite handy for competitive gaming. That way you don't get screwed.

I usually charge it twice a week.

I got used to it the second I picked it up. The only thing I don't like about it are the horrible drivers.
