You know, when I first got my MX500, I thought it was HUGE. I had a Mouseman Dual Optical before that, which I thought was the greatest mouse of all time, and I use a 3-button mouseman at work, so the jump to the MX series took a while to get used to.

If you can palm a basketball, I don't think you have a problem with a MX500/MX700.

Truth be told the mouse is a little to small on the right side of it, my ring finger doesn't have a convininet place to rest. And the weight isn't even noticable anymore. I really like it even though the power adapter died on mine and I have to recharge the batteries manually.

I went to my MX700 from an Intellimouse Explorer...I adjusted instantly and haven't looked back :)

I love my MX Duo. One of the best investments in computer hardware I've ever made. The only complaint I have is that everything but the volume control on the top of the keyboard is all screwed up, I think it might be a software issue but I don't know and really dont care since I rarely used them anyway.

As far as the mouse goes, I got used to it pretty quickly. The heavier feel is nice in games since I can turn the mouse speed up and not have to worry about it skipping like my intellimouse explorer did. I don't use any pad, just my bare desk.

I keep my intellimouse plugged in and tucked behind my monitor just in case my roommate leaves it off the charger like he always does when he uses my computer, but I rarely have to use it, the mouse will run for quite a while without a charge.

A bit late to the reply, but I just picked up my MX700 at Fry's ($59.99 out the door.) Definitely seems different than the MX500, and the reports of added weight seem to be accurate. Luckily I've got a really good mousing surface, so it seems to be light enough not to be a hinderance. Now to crank up UT2003 and see how it performs...

As far as the wireless aspect, this thing is just as responsive as the MX500 (wired) from what I can tell so far, even in a room completely filled with electronics that emit every frequency known to the FCC. =)

Same here.

I got mine when it was on sale at Amazon for $40 after MIR. I love it.

It took a while to get used to the size of the MX500, considering I used smaller mice before I went to the MX series.

How long did it take you to get comfortable with the weight and feel of the MX700?

The feel of the mouse to me is great, but the "softness" of the K/B included w/ the MX Duo is a bit annoying IMO :)
