This is my first time overclocking my rig. I have my X2 4400 currently at 2.64GHZ using the stock hsf. I have ran prime95's torture test and cpu tester pro's cpu test simultaneously with the cpu reaching top temperatures of mostly 47C, and rarely 48C. The Vcore is set up at about 1.42v. During these tests I have noticed that the rpm of the hsf have reched about 3900, but when I play FEAR the speed and temperatures seem to be the same as the numbers above with only the rpm of the hsf changing. They sometimes reach 4600,4700,4900, or 5000, but never more than 5100. I don't plan to buy an aftermarket hsf. I was wandering if I should try to reach 2.7Ghz or more? Should I also try to overclock the memory? I want this rig to last me at least, maybe, 3 or even 4 years.
