I would have to agree with what most of what everyone else has been saying. You will notice much greater performance gains by swapping to a PCI-e mobo and getting a new graphics card. If you really need a dual core you can undoubtedly find one for sale on these forums or on hardforum. Also if your not comfortable buying used, a quick froogle search will show that some etailers are still carrying opteron 165's.

You still hav'nt said under what conditions you feel your computer is lacking so I'm kinda just thowing this out there since it just caught my eye in FS forums and I thought of your post again..

this 4200 X2 combo is pretty hot if you want dual core, use your existing DDR ram and everything else...

Then get a decent video cards like a 7900GTO/X1900XT either costs ~$240

Alternitivly, if it's just video frames giving you the blues, a x1950pro is coming or has come in AGP
