Did I make the wrong choice?

I've been using an aging X1900XT for about three and a half years now, and I was getting tired of having to play FO3 and even TF2 at low, bare minimum settings in order to maintain a playable framerate. That said, I went out and bought an XFX 4850 for $130 at the local Microcenter yesterday, and I can now turn everything up to maximum settings and play smoothly.

I only game at 1360x768 (it's a 26" TV) and I don't intend to change for awhile. I was reading the AT review for the 5750, and the conclusion stated that "overall it’s just as good as the 4850 when it comes to performance". That led me to run out and buy the 4850, since it was local and 5750s are around $140 at the Egg. Although I'm very happy with the 4850, I can't help but wonder if I should've gone after the 5750 or even the 5770. The power savings of the 5750 isn't a great concern of mine, nor is the DX11 support. I intend to keep using the card for at least 2 years. Did I do wrong? Or should I wait until Fermi comes out?

Athlon X2 7750, 3.3GHz
Gigabyte MA790GP-UD4H
4GB OCZ PC6400
1360x768 monitor
Playing mostly Source-based games and FO3, might try Crysis and the like later

Full specs in sig

Thanks.

Well if the performance is equal and you don't care about dx11 or power savings, your choice probably wouldn't matter too much. I do however think you overpaid a bit, deals for 4890s can be had for around $140 shipped with no tax, and 4870s for a little over $100, both without bs mail-in-rebates. Although you might not have got it there by Xmas if you ordered yesterday if that was a priority. Your res is pretty low though so you should be fine with the 4850.
If you plan to upgrade soon you can just throw it on ebay and get a decent chunk of it back, my 4890 sold last week for $4.50 less than I paid for it 6 months ago new.
