I was half paying attention to CNN when I heard something about patriot missile strikes from US and Israel planned for next week....

please tell me I heard wrong. Are they actually announcing missile strikes in advance? What type of idiotic military strategy is this?

I did not hear that one,but that missle is a defensive weapon,to kill incoming scuds.Perhaps what you heard was that the US is moving the missles into the area.To be ready for the mother of all wars,yawn.

You can't really pick up and move a military base, I have a feeling that if the missle defense systems weren't good enough that announcing a missle strike wouldn't be that stupid. Like yakko said, lets them get rid of civilians.
