what should i have done with the spider?

  • left him to die in the fire

  • put him out of his misery beforehand

  • saved his little spider butt (comedy option)

Look at it with this question in mind:
The spider suddenly finds himself perched on the nape of your neck. Your soft, freshly moisturized nape is laid bare before him, his fang tips have just hardened after molting, he's super hungry because his kids ate all the stuff from the fridge (and also his wife).
Do you think he would put YOU safely back in the woods, Brian? DO YOU THINK THAT?!?!

Spent most of my life in the NE and didn't mind spiders unless they were in the house. Moved to Albuquerque four months ago and caught the first Black Widow I've ever seen (as it tried to get in the front door).

Why is their venom powerful enough to kill my kids and pets? WTF, do they hunt deer for sport on their weekends off?

I'm not sure an insect is technically an animal, but I guess it is alive, but I guess if there is one on my firewood I just treat like I would accidently stepping on an ant and just let him ddo his thing, if he gets out of their on his own more power to him i guess

So you're saying it's a plant? You agree that it is alive, so: If not Fauna, then Flora.
