I leave my monitor on 24/7 and just recently my monitor has been very weird. at low resolutions the screen shakes and looks weird. is this cuz i never used a screensaver or powersaver? its a adi microscan 6p

The monitor is probably fine, but the refresh rates may need to be adjusted. 75Hz & up are usually fine, but if your monitor is close to a lamp/fan or other eletrical device then it may be suffering from a lack of proper shielding.

Make sure your monitor isn't setting next to a lamp then check your refresh rates.

Make sure your monitor is still accurately listed in device manager. Sometimes when changing video card drivers, the monitor may go to "default monitor". If this is the case, your system doesn't know the "optimal" refresh rate.

i leave my monitor on 24/7 also, and if you've seen my thread you'll know that it just broke. it used to make a high pitchd whine when going into low res modes too.

Hmm. That humming noise isn't good.

If it were just the other symptoms, I would say you may have a power issue in the room your monitor is in.

My roommate had a Micron OEM monitor that started humming and after about a month it literally exploded.
