Did Comcast just ramp to 7mbit?

I chose to get 1.5MB for $20 instead of the amazingly fast 3MB for $30. DSL of course. Our Comcast cable's only 3MB for $45.

Oh, and I must note that it was "impossible" to run cable internet to this area about a year ago. Now, it seems that we're on the vanguard of speed rollouts (or something glitched hardcore and uncapped me)

I'm on the 6mbit plan and I can't say I've noticed any difference at all in my service. Maybe you just got a lucky little boost?

Perhaps. I'll run another test tommorrow. But for now...

6mbit with 608k is like 60kb/sec uploads, only 10k faster then 3/512 and it's 15.00 cheaper
screw that. Give me 3/1 and your 6mbit/608 would be next to useless. if you're a leecher good for you but bandwidth on the internet is mostly restricted by upload. you can't upload to other faster then 60kb/sec and others can't do faster then 60k/sec either so you're pretty much stuck with this shitspeed with other p2p users 😱

I'm still 4MB. Verison is working like crazy in our neighborhood. You'd think they had found oil with all the digging going on. FIOS is on the way. 🙂 Can't wait to call Comcast and drop their $47 cable internet.
