Did anyone watch Treasure Hunters on NBC last Sunday

I thought the first part was a bit slow..and it was just a guessing game when it came to the map from the ice block and finding the cylinder

hopefully it will get better, the self labeled geniuses and grad students i think defeated themselves due to ego and lack of communication.

the religious family sure came out looking badly when they stole the map from the other group

hopefully the challenges become more mental and the show really gets better

the host i think sucks...he just boring and does not add excitement to he show

I missed a little of the start of the show. Why did one group use Ask.com to figure out the pres. info and no one else did? Is it like a one-time deal/award? Did they earn it?
 
Nope. I wanted to watch it but was gone. The previews look interesting. Next air date is the 26th at 9PM.
 
It was ok, but yeah, much like the Amazing Race. The whole time I was watching I was thinking how much money they probably had to pump into this show. All the helicopters, props, etc... They better hope it does well.

Everyone has a laptop they can use to access Ask.com and Orbitz.com (and whatever other companies that pay for product placement). Apparently the other teams just never thought of it.

I really like that a wrong answer can set you off course with little/no clue you're not in the place you're supposed to be. I hope they keep doing that.
 
I liked it, but like others have said it is a ripoff of The Amazing Race. It also reminds me of that "National Treasure" movie.

this is true on the last part but when they found the map in the ice block all soem of them were doing where shouting locations off the map until the pilot said yes...i thought that was lame..it was more of an excercise in trial and error...lame

Sort of. There's a web game you can play, but I haven't checked it out. That has $70,000 in prizes.

There's also a text messege game you can "play" during the episode, they ask a trivia question with 6 possible answers, if you text the correct answer, you get entered into a drawing for $10,000 that night (this is exactly like the DOND Lucky Case game, except you could figure out the answer with a little research). You also get a clue for the web game, but I'm not sure if you only get the clue if you're correct, or if everyone gets it.
 
the show was clunky, and did not really have a set way to follow it. sure next clue and next clue, but they are all doing the same thing (ala amazing race), and it's not really treasure hunters. Now the show they had "lost" or stranded or whatever it was called, when they where put in a strange country and where supposed to get back home not having any money or anything, that was a good shot 🙂 but this feels uniteresting.

Pssst...that was the idea (moreso than making it like The Amazing Race).
 
Wasn't much like the Amazing Race to me. The Amazing Race = Start at Point A, go to Point B, do this at Point C, Race to Point D, and see who comes in last.

Treasure Hunters seems much more open ended and able to push teams into massive geographic mistakes. There are multiple possible solutions, but only 1 correct solution.
 
Not really sure I like it, it's weird to follow. I also hate how they repeat the instructions over and over and over. The host sucks, he's no Jeff Probst or the guy from Amazing Race. I thought it would have been better to wait longer into the season to show the teams there are other teams.

Also, those geniuses are morons. First they are patting themselves on the back for being so smart and need to "dumb themselves down." Next it's "Take us to Mt Theodore Roosevelt." Idiots.
