What I don't understand is why you didn't change the thread title to the correct spelling?

Yes this is perplexing far beyond the movie plot.:confused:

But I guess it does leave the audience guessing. Is the OP retarded? Just a stoopid N00b? Or a troll? All of them?

First, hilarious title typo and subsequent comments.

Seriously though, this is the basic premise of Inception is simple:

Knock out people IRL.
Invade their dreams and insert your own dream plots starring you (and your "team") with largely unexplained deus ex machina (EKGs, nose tubes, handsome gentlemen).
Make people disclose secrets in their dreams by gaining their trust, so you can fuck them over IRL.
Profit.

Capule review:

Piece of shit film not even worth seeing.

He knew he was dreaming. They couldn't just tell him to do something, they had to make him want to do it himself. They had to make him believe that when he woke up, it was actually his idea and not someone invading the dream.

I haven't yet caught interception but I won't get my back defensively up about it. How long does interception run? Maybe I'll just give it a pass and go for a run instead.

I think your all giving it a bit too much credit for being "complex" I found the movie easy to follow and made sense. The only "complex" part was when they were in the Tundra and you couldn't tell who was who because they were all dressed alike.

There was a lot of arbitrary stuff thrown in with no explanation you could ponder but why would you theres no point and no answer to it.

I thought the movie was good. One of the better movies released recently but I wouldn't call it complex by any stretch of the imagination because the whole plan and plot is laid out very simply and repetitively throughout the entire film.

Theres really not even any hidden details that you can go back and be like "Well I missed that the first time around" because everything is basically explained by the characters on the spot except a few meaningless detail and those are tossed up to "Well its the nature of the unknown" or some other crap.

I went in expecting to have a lot to think about or a hard time following it but unless you fell asleep its a pretty basic plot surrounding a unique catalyst.

I'll give it an 8.8/10

I agree. I cannot believed I watched it a second time to see what I missed that others saw. This movie is just an extravagant piece of crap base on a a few good ideas. There's good stuff like "planting a seed of thought." And then there's a lot of pointless stuff forced into the movie to make the movie much more interesting than it really is like... "totem lets you know if you're in a dream," the gazillion crazy explosions, the whole idea with sedatives, etc, etc.

I don't know about you guys, but I wake up from explosions or the sensation of falling. But wait, I won't because I'm sedated. But wait again, I'll wake up if I get kicked. Uhm....yeah, right.

But wait...I won't awake from the sensation of falling off a bridge in a car.

Inception = simplistic concept with big explosions made with pseudo deep thoughts to make its viewers feel like they're experiencing an intellectual experience...basically the Malcolm Gladwell of movies

The main problem with Inception is that Leo plays the same exact character in Shutter Island.

Basically whoever watched the film got inception whether they understood it or not. The film had a bunch of rules that made/didn't make sense and people walked away with the ideas from it.

There's 2 things I can think of. 1 is why was dicaprio still young in the beginning of the movie when he showed up on the beach but the asian guy was really old? and 2 was the spinning top.

ha.

and no.

But you won't get it unless you are into cinema; as it is a metaphor for movie making.

I don't understand how people don't understand that movie.
they are called sub 115s. They are the kind of person that thinks that the matrix was 'deep'.

Watched it last night. Great film. One question. How come Fischer didn't have a Dorothy moment after he woke up on the plane?
