Did anyone order HTC One?

Ordered mine four days ago. Shipped on the 16th and picked it up today at AT&T. 32GB in silver. Fiddling with it now!

First hand opinions please?

I am contemplating paying the extra over something like a nexus 4 or GS3 in a week or two.

The One is within budget but kind of want to feel justified and have a sense of value.

Initial impression: This is the One!

Build quality is fantastic. I don't have any of the gap issues some people are whining about on XDA. The 600 seems to be a blazing fast processor. I haven't been able to slow this thing down yet. (But obviously I haven't had it long, plus I'm still at work.) Still getting adjusted to Blinkfeed, so no comments there. The sound from the speakers are wonderful compared to all other cell phones. I don't have much else to say or add that's different from the review here on Anandtech. This is by far the best phone I've used. For referance, I've been using the Note, One X and the Optimus G before the One.

How's the button nav feel with the Home button being on the right rather than middle? I remember not liking the multi tasking at all on the One, your thoughts? Also one more little annoying thing, when you press home it takes you to your app drawer, not home...

Waiting for mine. Should arrive tomorrow, but cause its coming by USPS.. you really never know and I had it delivered to work so there will probably be an extra day delay (mail courier arrangement). 🙁

Did you already get your unlock token? In the event its removed from htcdev tomorrow .. which sucks for me if it is.

It took about half a day to get used to not having a menu button. It sure would be nice if app makers followed Google's guidelines to accommodate the removal of that soft key. As far as multitasking, double tapping the home key took about half a day to grow accustomed to.

And yes, I got my unlock token from HTC, however I'm staying stock for now. I have yet to notice any lag. The software feels super smooth and fluid. Perhaps more so than my fiancee's i5.

How is the screen? Is it 1080 and does it have glare in the daylight? I would also imagine the construction of this phone to be a more sturdy than the other HTC phones which are kind of dense with that plastic feeling. Can it do the multitasking like the gs3?

Got mine yesterday (AT&T 32GB Silver)

Pretty awesome so far. It can multi-task but not on the same screen that I know of. Double tap the Home button to get to task switcher. No lag.

Blinkfeed seems to be polarizing (as another site put it). Personally I like it, but set my home screen to a non-blinkfeed screen.

edit: The file transfer app is handy too for old phone to new...creates a hotspot to transfer music, contacts, photos, etc onto new phone

The screen is the best I've used, and yes it's 1080. I havebt used the phone in direct sunlight yet. The constructionis phenomenal. Zero complaints.

A local cell phone store has one on craislist new in box for 499

Yeah but it's att I bet. I'm on Verizon and that's what I would pay if I got a DNA today. We've already got some devs cooked up a Rom for the DNA but I would rather get this.

I ordered Thursday night, got in just before the preorder free media link HD deal expired on ATT website.

Mine shipped today via FedEx Standard Overnight from Texas, wish they had Saturday delivery with that, but I'll get it Monday which I guess is quick enough. I've been looking forward to the One since I heard Brian Klug and Anand's praise earlier this month, and then I decided for sure after the official review and podcast. Brian knows his stuff, and when he and Anand both expressed their pleasant experiences with it, I knew I had to get it.

I'm a big Windows Phone guy, but the aluminum body and good camera performance made me switch from Verizon to ATT and from WP to Android. I originally got excited a few months ago when I heard about and saw images of the Samsung Ativ S/Odyssey... and then I found out the brushed aluminum look was actually plastic 🙁 Though after switching to ATT I heard (about a week ago) that the Lumia 928 is coming to Verizon, and now I almost wish I was getting that. Actually, I wish I had both the HTC One and Lumia 920, haha.

I'm fairly open to other platforms/OS', even considered getting a new Blackberry, but the lack of BIS on their new lineup and middling hardware made it not worth it. From Apple I don't particularly like the iPhone, either, because while it has nice hardware, the OS is pretty uninspiring now. It's basically an app launcher, which is fine (it does have the most number of exclusive apps), but I like to have some compelling features in the OS... at least Microsoft has Zune (Xbox Music) and Office, and Android is much more customizable and open. Siri does nothing for me, I don't talk to my phone, even though WP actually had built-in voice commands before iOS did.

This isn't an anti-Apple rant, though, I do like the look/feel of their phones, it's just good to see HTC and Nokia pushing truly premium feeling phones, as well. Maybe they can get Apple to innovate more, which would be good for everyone. Competition is good.

Samsung SGS4 hasn't captured attention like the HTC One has, it seems more of an incremental upgrade, a la what Apple does with their iPhones, than a new phone. Disregarding all the shiny new gimmicky features, of course. Samsung is good at cramming features and higher paper specs into their phones, though, and their displays are higher-end than most. I have to give credit where credit is due, lest I be accused of being a "fanboy" (I hate that term, by the way 😀).

I want to post a mini-review after I play around with the One when I get it.

Big warning, HTC decided to use the old, easily scratchable Gorilla Glass 2. While GG2 does a pretty good job, micro scratches still appear on the screen from simply pulling and putting your phone in your pockets constantly which is very annoying.

The SGS4 uses the newer Gorilla Glass 3 which is 3x as scratch resistant according to this article.

http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-galaxy-s4-uses-the-latest-gorilla-glass-3-for-screen-protection/

I've never had a problem with scratching after owning a Blackberry Storm, Kin One, Dell Venue Pro, Lumia 710, Motorola Droid, HTC Trophy, and Lumia 920 - for me cracking/shattering is the problem. My HTC Trophy finally gave up the ghost (well, it still works) and the screen cracked after the 145th or so time I dropped it, coincidentally 2 weeks ago a little time after I found out about the One. I think it was committing suicide in protest. 😀 Similar scenario played out with my Blackberry Crackedberry Storm a few phones ago, though when that happened I looked like one of the munchkins after the house landed on the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz. 😛

Does scratch resistance = crack resistance as well? I don't keep my phone in the same pocket as my keys, and I wear dress pants with enough pocket room... maybe that's why I have less problems with scratching, who knows. I don't ever use screen protectors, though maybe a case would help protect from shattering. But I don't want to uglify the One.

No issues with the incredible 2 or rezound here being scratched. Only problems I've had is the charge port would stop working.

my brother ordered one for sprint about an hour ago. In cannot wait until he gets its so that I can use it.
