I am not going to get it for PC, XBConnect is spectacular. I almost went in for the fuel rod gun, rocket warthog, and new mp levels, but then I fragged some fools online over XBC and the crazy urge to splurge left me. I need to be able to afford Halo 2 eventually, you know!

For some reason xbconnect doesn't work for me. I hook up my Xbox to my router and I can connect to the system link screen in Halo and the Xbox is identified by xbc. But when I try to join a game it doesn't work. My xbox never recieves any data or anything :(

If you have a router, you have to open up your ports.

Worst game ever.

There are a lot of better FPS games for PC out, play those instead. You need to enable some form of AA otherwise the graphics look like crap and when you do your system will lag. If you can run at 1280 X 960 with 2X AA and not lag I will give you a cookie, because my system can't handle it.

Hey cpals, I believe I can help with that. No doubt you have a program like NVRefresh forcing your refresh rate up in games - that's what Halo is taking issue with. There's an easy remedy you can apply without having to change any Windows settings.

In your Halo shortcut, append -vidmode 800,600,85 to the end to force Halo to run at 800x600 at 85Hz. Of course you don't have to use those exact settings but in essence, it'll do the trick.

I'm getting it. I need something to do until Doom3 and HL2 come out and that's gonna be a while.

I got the game. I'm somewhat disappointed w/ it. Graphics is no where near as detailed as recent FPS (UT2K3, UT2, Raven Shield, even RTCW, MoH:AA, BF1942). It looks and plays a lot like C&C Renegade that came out 1.5 yrs ago. Nothing spectacular about it anymore, most of the stuff have been done to death over the past 2 years. I never played the XBox version, so I'm strictly commenting the game based on my first time experience with it. As a console FPS, I could imagine it being the best, but on PC, it doesn't compare against those FPS that I mentioned above.

Thanks, that worked. :D Too bad I didn't save all my saved games from the beta... :|

But then again, what do you expect --- it's a console port :(

That's a value-line video card fout 18 months ago you're running there, I don't expect to run anything fast on my Radeon 8500 either. If you had a 4600 you wouldn't need to worry about sub-20 frames @ 1024x786

got mine at ebgames this morning

I cannot play well above 800x600 on my game machine. during intense firefights, the graphics slow down at 1024x768 or higher

I have an amd2500+ at 2.3 ghz, 512 ddr ram, radeon 9500 pro.

It's not bad and runs at a decent rate on my machine (see sig). Still the game is ass, I don't see what the hype was all about.
