Did anyone ever play the text based mud Sojourn/Toril?

I played this game for almost 4 years. It managed to hold my attention for hours and hours on end, much worse than EverQuest ever has. In fact I rarely have desire to play EQ, but this game held onto me for 4 years! Quite an addiction. It had a player database somewhere in the neighborhood of 14,000 if I recall correctly and I had 2 main characters, Amiral and Maladryn. I just figured with the huge player database they had, maybe someone else here also played!

Yep, I used to play Toril for a little while, but then I moved over to Duris and spent years there. What I wouldn't give to have all that time back that I wasted...now THERE was an adicting game!

The name sounds somewhat familar, but I don't think I knew him. Was he from Toril or Duris? I really didn't spend much time in groups in Toril, just leveled up a warrior to 46 then switched over to Duris soon after, so I really didn't get a chance to know hardly any people from Toril. If he was from Duris then I can't imagine that I never knew him, unless maybe he went by a different name during the time I played.

Rika was female, and she was also one of the greater gods there later on. I don't know her god name. A lot of my good friends from toril later switched to Duris. I imagine you and I know quite a few of the same people!

Yep its quite likely I knew your friends that switched to Duris, I was in many guilds in Duris and knew just about everyone who played there. It took all of my willpower to quit that game, I never knew any computer game could be so adicting. To this day i'm still afraid of logging into a mud again out of fear that it might suck me in again .

Same thing happened to me with Toril. I had about 130 play days (which is actual DAYS) in real life over the course of about 4 years. Pretty sad to think that nearly 10% of ALL my time was spent on this game, including sleep time! I was on a LOT and it was probably a much stronger addiction over the course of about 3 years.
