Did anyone ever beat Freespace 2?

I never finished it. It's definitely the best space combat sim (whatever you'd call it) I ever played, the capital ships are actually powerful, they're more than big slow targets like they've always been in other games. Anyway, the problem with actaul powerful capital ships, is that I never finished the game.

I'm thinking about installing it again and seeing if I can't get through the whole thing this time.

Anyone else ever play this game?

yessir I have. I've played, and beat it. I won't give away the ending though

I actually own Descent: Freespace and Freespace 2. Both are excellent space flight sims. Well worth the $$.

I have FS2 installed on my machine but I don't play it because the controls are too complicated. When a game becomes work, I tend to avoid it...but I keep reading how great it is. It reminds me of Wing Commander, one of the first 3D games that had me PIMP because of the "incredible" graphics.

nope, i couldnt beat the 'paint the target' mission in the nebula. and i had already used the skip the mission option once (mission where u r given a choice to kill/not kill an innocent transport while u r undercover - i beat the immediate guys but then whole bunch of new guys jump in and get me before my friends can get to me) and didnt want to use it again

havnt played it for 2-3 months now!

Yep...Played Both. Finished Both. And yes the ending rocks, Now im tempted to install it and play it again since all ive been playing lately is Diablo 2 LOD.
