Did anyone buy Kung Fu the complete first season?

I loved that series when I was a kid, but then my parents also took me and my brother to a lot of Samurai films and Chinese sword & sorcery films (pre-kung fu Shaw Brothers) when I was growing up. Good times 🙂

I never liked that show since I found out that Bruce Lee was supposed to be him.
That is not exactly true.
Bruce was considered before they found David, but he was rejected.
That is a world different than, "Bruce Lee was supposed to be him."
The show is actually perfect for David Carradine - Bruce is too Asian.

I am sort of surprised more folks have not seen this show. I thought, that liek you, everyone love this show as a kid.

TOO ASIAN??? The guy is supposed to be from a SHAOLIN Temple where he learned the SHAOLIN KUNG FU...Also, I don't think Westerners were allowed to be a SHAOLIN MONK to learn the SHAOLIN art of KUNG FU.... David Carradine was TOO white dawg (no racism intended yo).

You know it's kinda funny, I remember when I was really young, thinking to myself, "What the heck is this white guy, doing travelling around the Western world teaching Kung Fu?? Shouldn't it be a Chinese Man?"

The whole point of the show is East meets West
His father is white and mother is Chinese.
Caine is the first not full Chinese ever let into the temple.
The show is a western, but Caine has no gun and no horse.
Bruce has better Kung Fu, but his Engrish would not have cut it.
More important than the fighting is the Buddism.

Caine was supposed to be half-asian, half-white, which is how he ended up in the American west looking for the white side of his family.

It also made a statement to have the character look white but still be discriminated against in the racist West because of the asian half of his ancestry.
